Song: Sunshine (on My Shoulders)

Artist: John Denver

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always ....

Definite nostalgia and a song that just popped in my head while posting a few snaps today. Soon, and pretty much hopefully sooner, its not going to be as lonely!

The 40GB Frying Pan

Here's how to scrub data out of your hard disk after it has crashed and is unreadable by conventional means. Of course, this only works when there is an internal short (which was what caused the crash, anyway!).

Lynne and Tessa

I was looking around Google videos and happened upon the highest ranking in terms of views, Barbie Girl performed by L&T.

What a trip.

Check out the rest of their videos on the link, impressively a lot. Inspires me to start making those music video ideas I had years ago :-)

Song: The Living Years

Artist: Mike & the Mechanics

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door

I know that I’m a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I’m a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got

You say you just don’t see it
He says its perfect sense
You just can’t get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defense

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It’s the bitterness that lasts

So don’t yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don’t give up, and don’t give in
You may just be o.k.

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

I wasn’t there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn’t get to tell him
All the things I had to say

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I’m sure I heard his echo
In my baby’s new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

I was listening to the radio and this song played. Nostalgic mid-90's song. Around the same genre, at the time, to Phil Collins and Genesis.

It got me to thinking of my Dad. I still miss him and would have loved for him to see how much better-off I am now. How someone has made me happy again (though she has her faults) after all the pain and hurt. You've heard about being burned? I was burnt to a crisp.

I raise my glass .... er, bottle, of Widmer Hefeweizen. Kampai!
